In alternate years, the Fonds BKVB bestows a number of oeuvre awards on visual artists, designers and architects with an outstanding record of achievement and a significant body of work. The objective of these awards is to stimulate interest in the laureate's work.
In addition, in 2000 the Fonds BKVB established the Benno Premsela Award for individuals deemed to have been an inspiration to several generations of visual artists, designers and/or architects. In 2004 the Award on Art Criticism was established, which will be awarded alternated with the Benno Premsela Award once every four years.
All Oeuvre Awards, the Benno Premsela Award and the Award on Art Criticism comprise a sum of money (€ 40.000) and a publication about the winner.
