English Summary

Last June, the Ministry of OCW announced that Design, Architecture, the Gamefund an the TAX-videoclipfund will be transferred to the The Netherlands Architecture Fund (SFA). That means that, as of January 1st 2012, designers, architects, game- and video artists can no longer apply at the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture. As of Januari 1st 2012, applications for these disciplines have to be filed at The Netherlands Architecture Fund. Applications that are filed at the Fonds BKVB before this date, will be treated by the Fonds BKVB.
The Fonds BKVB has access to artist-in-residence places and studios in New York, Berlin, Paris, Banff (Canada), Rome, Stockholm, Istanbul, Cairo, Beijing, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Curaçao, Belgium, Suriname, Prague and the Netherlands. Furthermore, the Fonds BKVB offers some temporary artists-in-residence places (AIR´s). The aim of allowing visual artists to spend time in one of these studios is to enable them to develop and reflect upon their work in a different environment and culture. Such a residency also generates opportunities for making or extending international contacts and for exploring and/or developing a new market. The stipend provided by the Fonds BKVB for each studio is intended to cover travel, living expenses and materials. The studio and/or workshop rental is paid directly by the Fonds BKVB.
